Kenneth Burchfiel
I sometimes feel "like a lonely bird on a housetop" (can you guess what Psalm that's from?), but that's probably because I stay up at the oddest hours to write, think and pray. I hope you enjoy the written work that results from my late-night sessions.
I was born in 1991, and things have gotten a little crazy since then. I've been blessed to have many chances to write during high school; I served as an editor-in-chief of the school paper my junior year and worked as the editor-in-chief of its literary magazine as a senior. I also had enough free time at home to write and edit a number of novels, some of which can be viewed at a self-publishing site, http://lulu.com/Burchfiel . Outside of Christianity and writing, my interests include aviation, meteorology and geography--subjects in which, one day, I might gain enough expertise to produce articles about them.
My Suite101 articles have focused on many themes, but the most popular ones have been my stories on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), some of which focus on religious OCD (scrupulosity). In December 2009, I participated in a Healthyplace.com TV program on scrupulosity, which gave me the chance to further spread awareness of what scrupulosity is and how it can be treated.
One last note--God deserves the credit for my articles, not me. I guess that's true for all of us.
As always, constructive criticism is appreciated. I hope you have as much fun reading and commenting on my pieces as I do writing them.
